Strawberry Short Cake

This classic strawberry shortcake features sweet berries, fluffy cake and a whipped topping. It is a simple, crowd-pleasing dessert.

Strawberry Short Cake

Ingredients

Biscuit

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons frozen unsalted butter grated
  • ¾ cup skim milk

Filling

  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cups whipped cream topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • In a medium bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add grated butter and mix well. Add milk and continue to mix until a ball forms.
  • Knead with your hands for a few minutes, then make into 10 balls. Place balls on baking sheet and press down to flatten into thick patties.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool.
  • Meanwhile, mix strawberries and sugar in a medium bowl.
  • Split biscuits and layer with strawberries and whipped topping.
