Plum Tomato and Mozzarella Caprese Toast

Never underestimate the power of simplicity. These delicious canapés marry creamy mozzarella, sweet tomatoes and balsamic for an unbeatable snack or lunch.

Plum Tomato and Mozzarella Caprese Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread sliced
  • 8 plum tomatoes sliced
  • 12 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh basil leaves chopped
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Place Italian bread slices on baking sheet and bake 4-6 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
  • Once cooled, top with tomato and mozzarella cheese slices over lightly toasted Italian bread. Sprinkle with fresh basil and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
