Ingredients
  

  • 3 large eggs beaten
  • 3 cups skim milk
  • ½ cup sugar + 1 tablespoon for garnish
  • 4 teaspoons unsalted butter melted
  • teaspoons cinnamon divided
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 8 slices white bread cut in large cubes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square glass baking dish and set aside.
  • Combine eggs, milk, sugar, butter, 1 tsp. cinnamon and salt in large bowl.
  • Place bread in prepared baking dish and pour milk mixture on top. Mix and submerge all bread pieces. Sprinkle top with remaining 1 Tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.
  • Set the baking dish in a larger baking pan and pour hot water in, to about 1-inch from the top of the dish.
  • Bake 45 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  • Serve with fruit or whipped cream.
